{"id":586,"date":"2013-03-25T11:39:54","date_gmt":"2013-03-25T19:39:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sprixelsoft.com\/?p=586"},"modified":"2013-03-25T11:39:54","modified_gmt":"2013-03-25T19:39:54","slug":"weigh-your-decisions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.sprixelsoft.com\/?p=586","title":{"rendered":"Weigh Your Decisions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In what appears to be very timely with what we&#8217;ve <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sprixelsoft.com\/?p=496\">recently<\/a>\u00a0been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sprixelsoft.com\/?p=562\">discussing<\/a>\u00a0comes a Kickstarter <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/susanwilson\/9-year-old-building-an-rpg-to-prove-her-brothers-w\">campaign<\/a> from <del>nine-year old\u00a0Mackenzie Wilson<\/del>\u00a0forty-three-year old\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.judgmentgroup.com\/About_Us.html\">Susan Wilson<\/a>. It&#8217;s a campaign that at first glance appears to be an enlivening battle cry for feminism that tugs at those little heart strings. It&#8217;s little surprise that when Susan began bombarding busy celebrities that they answered her call and began spreading the word. The campaign went viral in no time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The problem is, as I mentioned in my previous Kickstarter blog post, that while there are many good people and projects out there that need your support, it sometimes takes a little bit of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.destructoid.com\/blogs\/Shinta\/9-year-old-girl-rpg-kickstarter-a-pack-of-lies--249507.phtml\">careful consideration<\/a> to determine whether what you are supporting is actually what it\u00a0<em>appears<\/em> to be. I can&#8217;t help but be disappointed when I see such campaigns abusing the system. Kickstarter is a community that relies on philanthropy to help nurture projects that otherwise could not see the light of day, and this hardly appears to be such a project. I certainly don&#8217;t want to take a political stance on here and tell everyone what&#8217;s right and what&#8217;s wrong. If you feel that you want to contribute money to this campaign that&#8217;s certainly your prerogative&#8230; unfortunately I feel that I must stress yet again to look at each campaign <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crowdfundinsider.com\/2013\/03\/kickstarter-girl-coding-susan-wilson\/\">carefully<\/a> to determine it&#8217;s integrity.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There\u00a0<em>are<\/em> lots of people out there who\u00a0<em>need<\/em> your support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In what appears to be very timely with what we&#8217;ve recently\u00a0been discussing\u00a0comes a Kickstarter campaign from nine-year old\u00a0Mackenzie Wilson\u00a0forty-three-year old\u00a0Susan Wilson.
