Full Indie Summit
One rad part about my brief (and Matt’s continual) time in Vancouver, is that there is a fantastic community there called “Full Indie” who organize monthly meet-ups on meetup.com. If you’re an indie dev in Vancouver area, I’d definitely recommend you check them out. For those of you who aren’t in Vancouver (or since, there’s only like five of you out there able to travel back in time, this is good news even if you are in Vancouver): The organizers have released video from the Full Indie Summit that took place back in April!
The quick and skinny of it is, you can head on over to the Full Indie YouTube channel and check out their playlist of the 2013 Full Indie Summit. Be sure to explore the rest of their channel too, since they also have a bunch of 2011 Full Indie Presentations, 2012 Presentations, Podcasts, and Game Jams, and it looks like they’re now ontop of keeping the channel updated with 2013 presentations too.
The 2013 Full Indie Summit includes:
- a quick (half hour) talk from Nels Anderson about how they designed Mark of The Ninja
- a quicker (26 minute) talk from Jeff Isselee & Rae Russell about the artwork for their game Rustclad
- an even quicker (13.5 minute) talk from Joel Green about living where you love while making an indie game. In particular, how he loves rural living.
- an even quicker (9 minute) talk from Shane Neville about taking your game from good to great
- a long (24.5 minute) talk from Erik Johnson from Arcen Games about Indie Game Marketing
- a super quick (6.5 minute) talk from Chevy Ray Johnston of advice from Indie Pros
